Matthew Prouty is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist by the Massachusetts Board of Medicine and is board certified by the National Commission of Certification for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He is a 2005 graduate and a clinical faculty member of the New England School of Acupuncture. He spent four years after graduation doing advanced Chinese herbal training with renowned herbalist Tao Xie, M.D. He also apprenticed for several years in the private practice of renowned acupuncturist and herbalist Dr. Weidong Lu of the Dana Farber Cancer Center and in 2007 had the opportunity to study and travel in China with his mentor, Tao Xie, M.D.

Matthew's treatment style centers around results-oriented treatments and he encourages his patients to take an active role in their health care. His practice includes treatment for a broad range of conditions including, but not limited to: injury recovery, repetitive strain injuries, chronic pain, women's health/OB-GYN, digestive disorders/IBS, and migraine/chronic headache sufferers. He worked several years in the office of rheumatologist Robert Pastan, M.D., and has significant experience working with complex chronic pain issues and autoimmune disorders.

Matthew is dedicated to providing better health solutions to the community through affordable acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Aside from supervising clinics at the New England School of Acupuncture, Matthew is also a member of the Collaborative Medicine Working Group (CMWG). Based out of Massachusetts General Hospital, the CMWG is comprised of local physicians and health care practitioners working to encourage a collaborative approach to primary care medicine through the use and understanding of different modalities of medicine.

Kristina Langdon

Kristina Langdon is licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Medicine and Board Certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Kristina is a 2005 graduate of the New England School of Acupuncture with a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM).

Kristina has advanced herbal training as an apprentice of Master Herbalist Dr. Tao Xie, and in 2007 had the opportunity to travel to China with her NECA colleague Matthew Prouty and their mentor Dr. Tao Xie. This wonderful experience furthered her desire to continue her advanced acupuncture studies.

Along with working several days a week at NECA, she is currently practicing acupuncture at ISIS Holistic Clinic in Brookline, at Community Chiropractic and Wellness in Quincy, and treats patients on the maternity floor at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Kristina has a special interest in women's health and has valued her time promoting Chinese medicine in a major Boston hospital.

Kristina has a passion for the well-being of people and in general health maintenance, especially in acupuncture's role in the treatment and prevention of disease.

Michelle Bellavance

Michelle received her masters degree in Acupuncture from New England School of Acupuncture.

She holds a diploma in Acupuncture from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is a member of the American Association of Acupuncture.

She is a practitioner of both Chinese acupuncture and Japanese acupuncture styles. She is deeply dedicated to a holistic and preventive approach for the health and well-being of an individual and to cultivating an empowering partnership with each patient.

Elissa Oppenheim

Elissa is a licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist certified by the Massachusetts Board of Medicine and the NCCAOM. She holds a Masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, California.

Elissa treats patients presenting with a wide array of conditions and has a special interest in digestive disorders, pain management, emotional stress and women’s health. Elissa’s treatments often include nutritional advice and simple lifestyle modifications. Additionally, Elissa is fluent in Spanish.
